Feel Fine in Your Spine
Joseph Pilates said, “You are only as young as your spine is flexible.” He was not wrong. Over time, everyone's spine gets tight in some spots. The goal of this class is to show you where your tight spots are, and give you the tools you need to loosen them up. You'll use your breath, gentle movements and mindfulness principles that will help you take good care of your spine for life. We'll also cover how to keep your back safe when you bend and twist and some core exercises to support your spine. You will receive a handout with photos and descriptions of what we learned in class.

Adore Your Core
Let me first start by stating that this workshop is not a “core workout” in the typical sense. You are not going to do tons of crunches and planks or Pilates “hundreds” until your abdomen screams. This is a workshop that will start with very basic, subtle and gentle core movements so you can experience and learn about all the amazing pieces involved in the magic that is your core. Then you’ll move onto more challenging core movements with the wisdom of how to do them with the same pure, effortless integrity that you found in the simpler exercises. My goal is to teach core work as an exploration of the sensation of core and how it can be evoked with ease and integrity, as opposed to the typical gripping, striving and compensation that often accompanies core workouts.
You will receive a handout with photos and descriptions of what we learned in class.

Chinese 5 Elements
Personality Types
Understand yourself more and enhance your relationships using the Chinese Five Elements. This workshop will explain the world's oldest personality type system and put it into a modern context. Each of the elements: Fire, Earth, Metal, Water and Wood have key characteristics, emotions, stress response and motivations. You'll have fun figuring out which elements describe you and what activities, foods, and herbs will help you stay in balance. This powerful system is a wonderful tool for helping you understand yourself and others, so you can more deeply understand and navigate challenging relationships for the rest of your life.

The Art of Living Well
In this workshop we'll delve into the incredible wisdom found in the yogic principles of the Yamas and Niyamas. (The Yamas are the "don't do these" list of self-restraints. And the Niyamas are the "do these" list of observances). These beautiful guiding principles invite us to know ourselves, consciously choose discipline and growth, and fall in love with our lives. The principles are not a moral positioning with hard and fast rules. They will not tell you what to believe or what to seek in your life for your own fulfillment. Instead they will equip you to meet each unique situation with flexibility, understanding and wisdom. They will give you tools to live more simply, create less disturbance in your life and clear the clutter. These principles will equip you to gracefully meet whatever life brings.
