I am a retired teacher who has had major upper back pain/stress ever since I was in college and throughout my career. It has gotten worse as I've aged, to the point of interfering with a regular exercise program. I have now been in Mandy's program for three months. My upper back pain has diminished, to the point where I have relearned the use of my back muscles and rarely interferes with my regular exercise and work outside in my garden. I am ecstatic, overjoyed and so grateful for this extraordinary relief and am able to finally lose some pounds I've picked up over the course of the past ten years.

This is a marvelous class. Mandy makes it possible for everyone to do every exercise. She is an unusually astute, capable teacher who is completely tuned in to her students. I would especially recommend this class to anyone feeling creaky due to age or injury.

I have taken so many classes, and never like any of them because they are always too fast and I am never in my body. Im just trying to keep up. Your class allows me to totally settle into my mind and body and be aware of what is going on and what it needs. You pay attention to each student , which is a gift to be able to do. I felt so good when I left the class, I thought about it all day, what we did and how it benefited me. I especially like what you said at the very end, that it was natural for our bodies to be relaxed, that we are so used to being stressed. Not exactly how you put it. I had a lot of pain after today which I contribute to pushing myself farther then I should of. Going back and reflecting on your words and wisdom of your teaching I now know I need to stay in the pure range of no pain no matter what others are doing. This is my realization of my goal to become stronger. I was so blessed to have had the short time I have had with you.

Just a quick update and a thank you. I had my hip replaced on Thursday...came home yesterday and am recovering at home. It went well and I'm less disabled at this point than I expected to be. Got a lot of positive feedback from the physical therapists in the hospital regarding the "position sense" I had of my hip....mostly I think because of the work you did with me...The most helpful practice for me so far for pain management has been the breathing you taught me...it was a godsend. Thank you SO much. I look forward to resuming working with you when the time comes.

You are a excellent teacher because you break movements down to their basic component parts and then add them, one to the other.
