 Private Yoga Coaching - What's it about?

I love yoga. I think it is one of the best forms of movement and therapy available. The only trouble is that many of the yoga poses taught in group classes are “out of reach” for many people with pain, injury or illness and most yoga teachers leading group yoga classes aren’t trained to work with people who have illness, injury or pain.

After about 4 years of teaching group yoga classes, I understood how the poses were supposed to look, but I didn’t really understand what was happening in the body when things didn't look/seem right. After taking a yoga therapy training, I began to more fully understand how the pieces should optimally move and often I can recognize when and why something isn’t moving the way it should be. This helps me be a better teacher!

I get to share that knowledge with my students…the gap between how they are currently moving and how they could move better. That's probably my favorite part of teaching – educating people about their movement patterns! Often times my clients are surprised or fascinated by the movement patterns they didn’t know they had. They come to know how amazing and fascinating their body is, and that they don't have to work hard to make profound change. They learn that relaxing, and finding an easy breath while doing the pose or movement is just as important as doing the movement. They learn less is more. They learn to honor their own unique body, and to let go of doing it "the right way." 

What’s right for one person is often not right for another. It’s so individual. And that’s what I love about yoga therapy…it's definitely caters to the unique needs of the individual.

I can say with confidence that it is possible to reduce your pain/aggravation. I’ve seen it, I’ve experienced it, I totally believe it and I’d love to share it with you.
Yoga Therapy Facts:
  • Yoga therapy is best done privately (between therapist and client). It’s very tailored to the needs of the client.
  • Yoga therapy is different than regular yoga because the movements are much simpler/more basic than regular yoga poses.
  • Yoga therapy teaches you about your unique movement patterns that contribute to pain/dysfuntion. Most regular yoga classes don’t do that. They just teach you the “correct” way to do a pose as best as you can. (Which is not a bad place to start!)
  • Yoga therapy uses restorative positions (literally resting on different props) to release tension, similar to restorative yoga. You can feel better by lying around….who knew?​

Yoga Coaching:

​Single Session: $85 for 75 minutes


Bundle & Save:
3 Sessions for $240, a savings of $5 per session
6 Sessions for $450, a savings of $10 per session
10 Sessions for $730, a savings of $12 per session

Goal Setting:
If you are making lifestyle changes, it's important to give your goals the attention they deserve. We'll talk about your goals (including WHY they are your goals) and the obstacles you'll face as you move toward them. We'll develop strategies for success. Plus, if you're open to it, I can utilize some energy medicine techniques to help clear the emotional/mental stress patterns that interfere with your goals. 


Yoga Sessions Include:
  • Personalized instruction in your own home
  • Tools to help you reduce pain and stiffness and increase relaxation
  • A home exercise program created just for you
  • Accountability and support. Call or email Mandy up to two times between sessions.
  • Knowledge and understanding that can last a lifetime.​
  • Energy tips and tricks to compliment your yoga practice.
  • Attention paid to your goals and the obstacles you face to reach them. 
​​​​Addressing cost concerns: Consider this. What I am offering is not just a temporary fix to your discomfort, but knowledge and skills that can help you understand/manage the cause of your body's aches and pains for the rest of your life. (E.g. teaching you to fish or farm, as opposed to giving you something to eat). I want to empower you to be able to take care of your unique body's needs. If you do your home program, you would only come to see me when you feel it's time for a new program.
